The third grade business day will be held on May 15, 2013.
We have a week and a half to make final preparations.
Many of our students do not know how to make change for a dollar; or five or ten dollar bills!
This is going to cause them or others to lose money!
While most older people and teachers will help children, some do not know even to ask for help.
Please offer to help your students by playing store with them. Use the price that they are going to charge for their items and then pay with a dollar, five or ten, etc.
Make a "cheat sheet" that lists common change. For example, if your child is charging 50 cents, give them a 1, 5, or 10 dollar bill and ask them to give you change and if the change is correct have them write it down in an organized list.
$1:00 - .50 = $0.50
$5:00 - .50 = $4.50 etc.
Remind your child that sometimes people will buy more than one item! They must add up the total and still make change.
Remember! Business Day is one week from Wednesday.
