Homework: Unit 8 spelling words were introduced today. You and your child may want to visit Spelling City. That list has been up since last week, but we didn't work on the words until today. The test for Unit 8 will be on Friday.
It was a busy day today. We worked on Spelling, Science, English, and Math; saw a film on the Ojibwa of Michigan, and did a review of manuscript handwriting. We also had Spanish and Computer classes.
An apology regarding last week's blogs. Our internet was down on Thursday and we were unable to update the blog. In addition, Mrs. Balck discovered today that her e-mail was also delayed. The majority of her e-mails only arrived this morning. Please forgive our delay at getting back to you. We have informed technical support, but in the interim, please telephone if you would like immediate attention to a student matter. To all the parents who did e-mail us last week, our apologies.
Please do not forget to sign your child's permission slip for the November 4th field trip to the Grand Rapids Public Museum. The cost per child is $6.00. If writing a check, please make it payable to Nancy Balck. Also, let us know if you will be able to drive and how may back seat seat-belts you have. By law, our children may not sit in the front seat.
Please do not forget the Alt Dinner baskets. We are looking for either party-type donations (i.e., wine glasses, wine, etc.) or monetary donations to fill the baskets. We ask that these donations be in by this Friday.
Finally, this Friday we will be celebrating Halloween. Due to food allergies in our class, we ask that no treats be brought in. Rather, we will be celebrating via movies, games, and prizes.
