Homework: Students may review spelling words on Spelling City (unit 8) if needed.
In math, the majority of the students are working on set Q in Rocket Math. Your student should review the top half of the page. Do not write on the top or the bottom of the sheets. The bottom half will be used for testing tomorrow. Simply review with your child for or 5 or 6 minutes. Please remember to complete the fact families 10 times each (the facts are at the top of the sheets). Remember to follow Mrs. Balck's example for writing them out. Use a clean sheet of lined, loose-leaf paper. Don't forget to skip a line and be as neat as can be!
example:
5+8=13
8+5=13
13-8=5
13-5=8
Today was a great day in the third grade! We were busy as always, working on reading, math, religion, Spanish, and music. We watched a movie about the Mighty Mac and were amazed at this great engineering feat, and the work involved in building the bridge!
Please remember the permission slips for the November 4th field trip. The cost per child is $6.00 and we are still in need of drivers. Please let Mrs. Balck or Mrs. Strong know if you would like to drive.
Also, the Monsignor Alt baskets are being assembled next week. Please bring in contributions for the basket by this Friday, October 30th. If you would rather send in a monetary contribution instead of shopping, feel free. The dinner is November 14th and is always a great time. All are invited. Please return your RSVPs to the office ASAP.
Please remember to work with your child on his/her Education First goal contracts. Letters are set to be sent out next week and we are working for an all school jean day. In order to receive the jean day all classes must have 100% participation in setting their goals and getting them into the office. If you have questions, let Mrs. Strong know and she will help you find the answers.
This Friday, we will be celebrating Halloween. Students may bring in their costumes for our party in the afternoon. Again, please no treats due to food allergies. Instead we will be playing games and watching movies.
Have a great evening with your wonderful families!
