Homework: You may wish to review Spelling City with your child today, Unit 8. We will have a Spelling Test on Friday.

In math, most children are on set R in Rocket Math; however, the children have begun to move on as they master a particular set. Whatever set your student is working on, please do not write on the sheet, top or bottom! If you feel that your student needs to write the problems and answers out, use a seperate sheet of paper. Simply review the top half with your child verbally. The bottom half will be used to test on tomorrow. Have your child write out the fact families (located at the top of their page) 5 times each. Please use a clean sheet of lined paper and follow Mrs. Balck's example. Remember to skip a line in between sets and be as neat as can be.

7+3=10
3+7=10
10-7=3
10-3=7

Finally, please have your child grab a book and read for 5 minuts. If possible, have your student read the book aloud to you, to a mirror, the pet dog, or whomever will listen. This is great practice for the children.

Updates

We are still in need of many permission slips for next Wednesday's field trip to the Grand Rapids Public Museum. Please complete the form and sign it. The cost per child is $6.00. If writing a check, please make it payable to Nancy Balck.

The Alt dinner is November 14th. Each classroom is preparing a basket for auction at the dinner. The Third Grade theme is Fun With Food. We are asking families to send in some type of item that can go into the basket. Examples include jams, jellies, a picnic basket, salsas, chips, wines, etc. Some families have chosen to send in gift cards or even cash (in case you do not have time to shop).

Don't forget our Halloween Celebration on Friday. Children may bring their costumes and change into them after lunch. Our celebration will be treat free, but filled with games that are fun.

Have a great day and enjoy this wonderful weather!
